Way to Better Photography

Just as one cannot write a poem or novel without developing a fair understanding of the language, similarly, it is not possible for one to start photography without learning its technical and aesthetic fundamentals. Moreover, any one particular stream of photography is totally different from the other, though the basic principles remain the same. Following are the basics of ensuring the easiest way to better photography:
Select your camera, lenses and accessories according to your desire and requirement.
Know your camera to such an extent so that you can use it even with your eyes closed.
Use wide or tele lenses according to the subject you are shooting.
Make optimum utilisation of the metering system of the camera for best exposure.
Depending upon whether it is early morning, midday or evening, decide on the best lighting for your subject, particularly for outdoor shooting.
By and large, follow the ‘Rule of Third’ during the placement of your subject within the frame.
Give emphasis or prominence to the main object (centre of interest).
Select an appropriate viewpoint or a suitable angle rather than normal, eye-level shooting.
Do not allow your subject to blend into a busy background. Choose a simple background.
Create a sense of depth by proper placing of objects in the foreground and background.

Remember -- you can break the rules anytime, but do not break them as a result of your ignorance.
